D. George Wyse is a Calgary cardiologist with a PhD in pharmacology from McGill University. A professor emeritus at the University of Calgary, Dr. Wyse is well known internationally for his research in cardiac arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat). A former president of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT, and Nunavut, and former chief of cardiology for the University of Calgary and Foothills Hospital, Dr. Wyse has been published in medical journals around the world. Originally from Kamloops, BC, he has received many prestigious honours and awards in Calgary, Canada, and the US in recognition of his contributions to cardiology and cardiac research.
